Northrop Grumman’s Mission Robotic Vehicle is scheduled to launch Tuesday with a four-hour window opening at 5:15 p.m. EDT, barring weather delays, CEO Kathy Warden said during the company’s earnings call. The spacecraft, developed by the firm’s SpaceLogistics subsidiary, is designed to repair, relocate and upgrade satellites in orbit.
Warden stated the vehicle will become operational in 2027 after orbital positioning and testing. When asked about a possible offensive version capable of disabling other satellites, she replied, “I will leave it up to the U.S. ” Forbes reported that Northrop Grumman posted a record backlog of $105 billion and raised its 2026 sales outlook to as much as $44.25 billion.
The company reported second-quarter earnings of $4.86 per share on revenue of $44.8 billion. Its space segment generated 15 percent of total revenue in the quarter and carried a backlog exceeding $16 billion.
