Norway's national football team left The Dalmar hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, after one night and moved to a hotel closer to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. Players complained about noise from nearby construction and traffic, prompting the switch. Logistics manager Truls Daehli said the team completed the move in two and a half hours and that FIFA accepted the change.
FIFA agreed to pay for 50 rooms and security at the new hotel. Norway's football association will cover any extra charges for upgraded player requests. The team will stay in Miami for one week after already spending six weeks in the United States.
Norway faces England on Saturday in what Daehli called the biggest match in Norwegian history. The side reached the quarterfinals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup for the first time and is appearing in the tournament for the first time in 28 years. Daehli said the players themselves pushed hardest for the change to preserve a good atmosphere.
"It is brutal having to move but we are satisfied with the new place and everyone is happy now," Daehli told The Independent.
