Nvidia Edges Arista for Top Share of Data Center Ethernet Switch Market in Q1
Nvidia recorded $2.1 billion in data center Ethernet switch revenue during the first quarter of 2026. The figure gave the company a 21.5% market share, ahead of Arista Networks, according to IDC data reported by Insider.

Nvidia became the top vendor by revenue in the data center Ethernet switch market in the first quarter of 2026, Insider reported. The company posted $2.1 billion in sales, equal to a 21.5% share. That marked an increase from 4% in the first quarter of 2024.
Arista Networks held the second position with a 20.7% share. The full market reached $10 billion for the quarter and expanded 61% from a year earlier, IDC data showed. Nvidia's Spectrum-X system, built to operate with its AI chips, accounted for the gains, IDC senior research manager Brandon Butler said.
Nvidia's wider data center networking revenue tripled to $15 billion in its most recent fiscal year, chief financial officer Colette Kress said on an earnings call in May. The company entered networking through its 2019 acquisition of Mellanox. Butler noted that cloud operators favor the integrated approach when expanding AI facilities quickly.
Some customers may still prefer established networking suppliers as they scale new infrastructure, he added.
