Nvidia reported another quarter of strong earnings on Wednesday. The company also introduced new reporting categories and discussed its position in the CPU market.

Nvidia is now reporting earnings in two categories: data center and edge computing. The data center business includes revenue from hyperscalers and sovereign AI projects. Edge computing covers revenue from PC, robotics, and automotive products. Nvidia is trying to show investors that it is more than a GPU company.

The company said it is the computing platform of the future for AI factories, robots, and cars.

Huang said the company has largely conceded China's AI chip market to Huawei. S. to sell certain chips to China. Beijing has urged local companies to buy domestic alternatives. Huawei and other Chinese firms have developed rival chips to Nvidia's GPUs. These chips are filling the gap left by Nvidia in the Chinese market.

CFO said the company's new Vera CPU opens up a $200 billion market. Nvidia anticipates $20 billion in total CPU revenue this year. The company is positioning itself as a player in the CPU space as the industry shifts from training to inference.
