New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said his administration has delivered free childcare for 2-year-olds for the first time in city history along with tens of millions of dollars returned to tenants, 165,000 potholes paved and the lowest recorded crime rate in the city's history.
He made the remarks in an interview with ABC News' Jonathan Karl, his first sit-down since the primaries. Mamdani took office in January after an upset mayoral primary victory.
Three candidates endorsed by Mamdani won congressional primaries this year. Two of them unseated multi-term Democrats. The full interview is scheduled to air on "This Week" on Sunday, June 28. The Democratic Party establishment was not happy about Mamdani's election.
