Initial estimates placed the price at $300 million. A federal judge dismissed a 2022 lawsuit from a local group that claimed construction disrupted the historic park.
Invitation extended to critics Obama Foundation CEO Valerie Jarrett told USA Today on June 3 that the center would welcome critics to view the facility. "Judge for yourself," Jarrett said during a preview event. " The campus includes a basketball court, picnic area, playground, auditorium, classroom spaces, cafe and sledding hill.
