The Odyssey Holds U.S. Premiere in New York City

The Odyssey, a nearly three-hour film written and directed by Christopher Nolan, held its U.S. premiere in New York City on July 14. Cast members appearing at the event included Matt Damon, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong'o, Samantha Morton, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Travis Scott, James Remar, Corey Hawkins, Himesh Patel, Jon Bernthal, and others.

The story follows Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, on his journey home to his wife Penelope, played by Anne Hathaway, and their son Telemachus, played by Tom Holland. Zendaya plays Athena, Charlize Theron plays Calypso, Lupita Nyong'o plays Helen of Troy and Clytemnestra, and Samantha Morton plays Circe. Christopher Nolan also attended with producer Emma Thomas.

Preview screenings begin Thursday afternoon and the film opens in theaters nationwide on Friday. The press tour for the film began in London on July 6 and continued through Mumbai and Paris before the New York event.
