Shohei Ohtani had a lubricant injected into his left knee after Sunday's game against Arizona, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday. The procedure did not involve draining fluid from the joint. Ohtani started Friday's game against the New York Yankees as the leadoff batter and designated hitter.
He finished 0-for-4 with two warning-track flyouts in the Dodgers' 2-1 victory. Roberts said Ohtani is not scheduled to pitch this weekend and is likely to make his next start Wednesday at Philadelphia. The four-time MVP skipped Tuesday's All-Star Game.
