City scored 40 points in the second quarter to build a double-digit lead. The teams combined for 29 free throws in that period, the most in any second quarter since the 2020 bubble playoffs. Chet Holmgren had 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Isaiah Hartenstein posted 12 points and 15 rebounds. The Thunder improved after scoring only 82 points in a Game 4 loss two days earlier.
Castle led San Antonio with 24 points. Julian Champagnie scored 22 and Victor Wembanyama had 20 on 4-of-15 shooting. The Spurs missed 29 of 41 three-point attempts. Keldon Johnson added 15 points off the bench. Wembanyama declined to speak with media after the game.
