The seat was previously held by Markwayne Mullin, who left to join President Donald Trump’s cabinet as Homeland Security Secretary after Kristi Noem was fired from the post in March 2026. U.S. senator since 1990.
Republican Alan Armstrong, an energy executive, is serving as interim senator but is prohibited by state law from seeking a full term. In the governor’s race, President Donald Trump endorsed former state Sen. Mike Mazzei last month.
The field also includes Attorney General Gentner Drummond, former Oklahoma House Speaker Charles McCall, and former state public safety director Chip Keating. Gov. Kevin Stitt has served since 2019 and is barred from running again by term limits.
5 million of their own funds, representing almost 72% of their combined fundraising total of more than $31 million, according to campaign finance reports. An August runoff is possible if no candidate receives at least 50% of the vote.
