Olivia Jean filed a complaint for divorce from Jack White on June 3 in Nashville, citing irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct, according to documents obtained by USA TODAY. Jean, 36, listed the date of separation as the filing date.
She alleges she can show that White is guilty of inappropriate marital conduct, which makes further cohabitation unsafe and improper under Tennessee law.
In the complaint, Jean states she is dependent on White's income for support and requests alimony. She also asks to remain the beneficiary of his life insurance, for White to continue paying her health insurance coverage, and for him to pay her legal costs and fees.
Jean states she hopes to enter into a written Marital Dissolution Agreement regarding the division of their assets, subject to court approval.
The artists married in December 2022 during a concert in Detroit. White proposed onstage at the end of the show after the pair sang his band's song Hotel Yorba. They returned minutes later for a live wedding ceremony officiated by Ben Swank of Third Man Records.
This is White's third marriage. He was previously married to Meg White from 1996 to 2000 and to Karen Elson from 2005 to 2013.
