Six-time U.S. Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte proposed to girlfriend Molly Gillihan at a restaurant in Gainesville, Florida, last week. TMZ reported the proposal and published photos showing the couple celebrating after Gillihan accepted.
The location was the site of their first date. Lochte, 41, told TMZ he was happy with the outcome. "I'm on cloud nine she said yes. I'm happy this is my new beginning, and I couldn't do it without her," he said.
The couple made their relationship public over Fourth of July weekend in 2025. Lochte posted a birthday message to Gillihan on Instagram last month describing how their relationship changed his life. Lochte finalized a divorce from his previous wife one year ago.
He also completed a rehab program for substance use during that period.
