One Nation has ordered its newly formed local branches to dissolve and reconstitute their committees after an internal review identified gaps in formal documentation. Documents seen by Guardian Australia show the party’s general manager, Kelvin Morton, issued a directive on 17 April requiring branches to complete proper establishment minutes and elect committee roles in line with party rules.

The review found that some branches lacked compliant records for coordinators, secretaries, and treasurers.

The directive requires all committee members and nominees to sign non-disclosure agreements. Branches must also follow a media silence policy and refrain from operating independent social media accounts. An urgent communication dated 14 May stated that branches failing to comply with the April directive had been forcibly dissolved and told to cease activities.

All funds must now be managed centrally by One Nation headquarters.

Nation began rolling out branches in every federal electorate in August 2025. The party described the network as the engine room of its grassroots movement ahead of the next general election. The directive states that incomplete records could expose branches to legal challenge and that decisions made by improperly formed committees could be overturned.

Morton wrote that the party cannot allow administrative issues to create operational risks as it approaches the election. A separate guide outlines a 10-year record check for committee members using the party’s ONTRACE process. Results of the check are final and cannot be discussed with applicants.
