OnePlus Exits United States Market After Eight-Year Run

OnePlus announced on July 16, 2026, that it has exited the United States market after an eight-year run. The company first launched on a U.S. carrier in 2018. T-Mobile stopped stocking OnePlus flagship phones after 2022 and decided to carry only its low-end Nord devices.

Verizon carried OnePlus phones from 2020 through 2021. Nearly 200,000 customers had already been using OnePlus phones on the T-Mobile network before the carrier began official sales. The Verge reported that Samsung and Apple accounted for an estimated 90 percent of all phones sold at U.S.

Carriers in 2020. OnePlus Nord series claimed 428 percent growth for the company in the first half of 2021. The company lost its deal with T-Mobile in 2022. Android Headlines claimed in January 2026 that OnePlus was being completely dismantled.

OnePlus denied that report. The Verge reported that 75 percent of all smartphones sold at carrier stores are now iPhones, with Samsung making up about 15 percent. T-Mobile offers a brand new 256GB iPhone 17 Pro for $4.16 a month on top of a phone plan.
