Oregon Operator Files Chapter 11 Bankruptcy for Five Mountain Mike’s Pizza Restaurants While Chain Plans 25 New Locations

Rogue Fare LLC, which runs five Mountain Mike’s Pizza restaurants in Oregon, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on July 1 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Oregon in Eugene. Court papers show the company listed assets between $0 and $50,000 and debts between $1 million and $10 million.

The largest creditor is First Bank of the Lake, owed more than $2.9 million, followed by First Internet Bank of Indiana, owed more than $1.5 million. Rogue Fare operates two locations in Medford, where the company is based, and single outlets in Klamath Falls, Grants Pass, and Roseburg. The petition did not state a reason for the filing.

Mountain Mike’s Pizza, founded in 1978 near Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, has grown to more than 300 locations after private-equity firm Levine Leichtman bought the chain in 2017 and sold it to Chris Britt and Ed St. Geme in 2022. The company opened 24 restaurants across six markets last year and plans to open 25 more this year.
