Orphaned Baby Forest Elephant Rescued Near Okomu National Park
A young forest elephant that left Nigeria's Okomu National Park is now under care from the NGO ANI. Wildlife workers are preparing the calf for eventual release back into the wild.

@AFP reported the rescue highlights ongoing conservation efforts in the region. The elephant left the park boundaries before being found and taken into care. ANI staff are providing daily support while the calf grows.
The organization stated that the long-term aim remains release once the elephant can survive independently. No timeline for that step was given in the report.
