Oura Releases Smaller Fifth-Generation Smart Ring
Oura introduced the Oura Ring 5 on May 28, 2026. The new model is 40 percent smaller than its predecessor and maintains the same $399 starting price.
New York PostOura announced the Oura Ring 5 on May 28, 2026. The Finnish company said the new ring is 40 percent smaller than the Oura Ring 4 while tracking up to 50 health metrics. The ring is available for pre-order starting today and will ship on June 4. Buyers must use a new sizing kit because the dimensions differ from earlier models.
The device features a thinner profile intended to resemble jewelry. Oura stated the ring offers a week-long battery life and is waterproof. It comes in sizes 6 through 13 and in finishes including Deep Rose, a lighter Gold shade, Brushed Silver, Silver, Stealth, and Black.
The company added daytime and nighttime blood pressure readings, expanded Symptom Radar, nighttime breathing metrics, and Health Records integration. A GLP-1 insights tool allows users to log medication doses and track related body changes. Holly Shelton, chief product officer at Oura, said the redesign required changes to sensors, battery, architecture, and ring geometry.
Tom Hale, Oura CEO, stated the smaller size and updated software aim to increase daily wear and provide more personalized health data. The ring starts at $399, the same price as the Oura Ring 4 Ceramic. Optional two- and three-year warranties cost $45 and $60.
