Outgoing Intelligence Director Cuts Staff 40 Percent and Redirects $1 Billion
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence reduced its workforce by 40 percent and redirected $1 billion under outgoing leadership. The incoming acting director is expected to continue the reductions.

An ODNI official told the Daily Caller News Foundation that the reductions followed an internal audit that identified mission creep and excess layers of management. Three centers were closed and some personnel were returned to their original agencies.
Pulte will assume the acting director role on June 30.
The outgoing director had also planned to declassify documents on the origins of COVID-19 and on anomalous health incidents before leaving the post on May 22.
