Over 350,000 Iron-Containing Supplements Recalled Due to Missing Child-Resistant Caps
The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of more than 350,000 units of vitamins and dietary supplements manufactured by Vitaquest International. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced on Thursday a recall of approximately 356,140 units of iron-containing vitamins and dietary supplements. These products were distributed without child-resistant safety caps, which violates requirements under the federal Poison Prevention Packaging Act. The recall affects multiple brands produced by Vitaquest International.
The affected products include brands such as Arey, Bari Life, Bird&Be, Biote, Dr. Fuhrman, NuLife, HMR, Bariatric Pal, Noevir, Zenbean, and Sakara. Many of these supplements target specific groups, including prenatal vitamins for pregnant women and multivitamins for children.
Iron in these products can be toxic if ingested in large amounts by young children, potentially leading to serious injury or death from poisoning.
The recalled items were sold nationwide at retailers including The Vitamin Shoppe, Ulta Beauty, Credo Beauty, and other health stores.
They were also available online through Amazon, brand websites, and medical offices. Sales occurred from April 2023 through February 2026, with prices ranging from $13 to $130 per unit. Specific products include Arey Not Today, Grey (60 count and 180 count); Bari Life Complete Bariatric Vitamin, Watermelon (60 count); Bird&Be The Prenatal Essentials for Females (30 pack); and others such as Biote Nutraceutical Iron+ (30 count), Dr.
