The Green Bay Packers signed Tyrod Taylor to back up starter Jordan Love on May 4 and released Desmond Ridder in a corresponding move. 88 million, according to Spotrac. com reported the contract details.

Taylor, who will turn 37 in August before entering Year 15 in the NFL, visited The Post studios for an interview on April 16, 2026. “I’ve been training really since the season ended and just taking it day by day, but I feel great,” he said. His 2025 season ended with a groin injury suffered in December.

In 2025, Taylor appeared in six games with four starts for the Jets. 7 percent of his passes for 779 yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions. He also rushed for 143 yards with one TD.

Taylor was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the sixth round, No. 180 overall, of the 2011 NFL draft. He spent the last four seasons split between the Giants and Jets as a backup. “I think it’s a story of perseverance, dedication, passion.

I started playing the game of football at age 5 and learned a lot throughout the years. I’m 36 now… I’m thankful for it all,” he said. Taylor’s grandmother long ago told him that sports is only a small portion of life and teaches more about life than the sport itself.

He has carried that perspective through both successes and setbacks. “The game of football has allowed me to travel so many different places that I probably never would have seen had it not been for football,” he added. Off the field, Taylor and fiancée Bianka Charity-Parker announced their engagement on March 16 via a joint Instagram post.

The engagement took place in Rome, Italy. D in Clinical and School Psychology. “I’m a very private when it comes to my personal life, but I am excited. I’m blessed and happy and thankful to be able to find my partner — and I’m looking forward to just creating lasting memories and moving forward with each other in life,” Taylor said of the engagement.

Taylor’s fashion brand Diallo was born in 2023 after he and Dex Robinson came up with ideas during the pandemic. The brand blends athletic design with traditional American fashion and features stories of elders and powerful images. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts sported Diallo for his Time 100 Next 2023 List cover, while Oklahoma City Thunder star guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and free agent receiver Stefon Diggs have also worn the brand.

Taylor, a Hampton, Va. native, named Pharrell, the men’s creative director at Louis Vuitton and a fellow Virginia native, as a fashion inspiration. In February, he teamed with Hampton University to launch the Strive Academy, an initiative aimed at fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and career readiness for students and alumni through fashion, education, and experience.
