10magazine.comPaco Rabanne announced Tuesday, July 14, that Olivier Rousteing will become its new creative director following Julien Dossena’s departure in June. Le Monde reported that his first collection for the brand will be presented in March 2027. Rousteing left Balmain in November 2025 after nearly 15 years as creative director.
Julien Dossena had stepped down as Rabanne's creative director in June after 13 years at the helm, Le Monde reported. "Joining Rabanne is a tremendous honor. This is a house that has always challenged convention, transforming bold ideas into creations that have shaped fashion history," Rousteing wrote in a social media post.
He also saluted "the remarkable creative legacy" left by Dossena. "For me, fashion is about emotion, identity, and the confidence to express who we truly are. That belief feels deeply connected to Paco Rabanne and his enduring vision of freedom and individuality," Rousteing stated.
Le Monde reported that Rousteing designed a dress worn by Beyoncé at the Met Gala in New York in May. He designed a collection for a Balmain-H&M collaboration in 2015 and was entrusted with the creative direction of one of Jean-Paul Gaultier's collections in 2022. Rousteing has approximately 10 million followers on Instagram.
