Pakistan calls Iran to urge de-escalation after U.S. strikes

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke by phone with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Sunday and urged both sides to pursue de-escalation, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said in a statement. Dar stressed that the parties should follow the path of de-escalation and show restraint as agreed in the Islamabad MoU in June 2026, the ministry said.

He added that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path to resolving disputes and achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.

Regional strikes continue U.S. forces conducted air strikes on Iranian military and commercial sites over the past three or four nights, Iranian state media reported. Targets included locations near the Strait of Hormuz such as Sirik, Jask, Bandar Abbas, Kangan, Bandar-e Deyr, Asaluyeh, and areas near Konarak and Chabahar.

Iranian security officials told IRIB that U.S. forces also struck a military installation near Yasuj in southwestern Kohgiluyeh Boyer-Ahmad province. Iranian officials said the strikes followed Iranian attacks on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Missile launches and regional responses Iran launched three missiles toward Jordan that fell without causing casualties, Jordan's Petra news agency reported. Omani state media said drones targeted sites in Musandam's governorate, and Iran's IRGC claimed attacks on logistics centers at Oman's Duqm port.

Air raid sirens sounded for a third time in Bahrain on Sunday morning, the Interior Ministry said. India's Foreign Ministry condemned an attack on the container ship GFS Galaxy off Oman, noting that 10 of 11 Indian crew members were rescued while one remains missing.
