Pakistan Win ODI Series 2-1 After Australia Collapse to 157

Pakistan defeated Australia by four wickets in the deciding ODI in Lahore on Thursday to win the three-match series 2-1. Australia, who won the toss and batted first, were dismissed for 157 in 42 overs after the start was delayed 15 minutes by a brief downpour. Josh Inglis scored 65 as stand-in captain.

Shaheen Shah Afridi took three wickets for 30 runs, including Matt Short caught at mid-on with the second ball of the innings. Marnus Labuschagne was run out for 19 after a mix-up with Inglis in the 12th over. Alex Carey scored 19 before being bowled middle stump.

Inglis and Cameron Green were both caught off Shaheen Shah Afridi within three balls of each other. Matt Renshaw was caught at slip by Salman Ali Agha for 4. Adam Zampa reached 10 before Shadab Khan dismissed him.

Pakistan reached 2-41 after Nathan Ellis dismissed Sahibzada Farhan and Matt Short removed Maaz Sadaqat. Matt Kuhnemann took three wickets, including Babar Azam, who top-scored with 40. Abdul Samad and Shadab Khan then added an unbeaten 49-run partnership to complete the chase.

Pakistan had won the opening ODI in Rawalpindi by five wickets. Australia won the second ODI in Lahore by 41 runs on Tuesday. This was Pakistan’s third successive 2-1 ODI series victory over Australia, with two of those wins coming at home.
