Panthers QB Bryce Young Addresses Dropped Passes at OTA Practice

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young addressed his teammates after several dropped passes during Tuesday's organized team activity session in Charlotte. Heavy rain had ended, yet multiple wet footballs were not secured by receivers. Young shouted that execution needed to improve. Coach Dave Canales said the quarterback used more direct language than the summary he provided to reporters.

Canales said he heard Young urge the group to refocus once conditions cleared. He added that Young is taking ownership of the offense and that teammates have responded positively to that approach. Canales also noted Young has shown improved command of the offensive system, including timing and specific instructions to tight ends, wide receivers, and running backs.

Wide receiver Jalen Coker said he was not surprised by the exchange. Coker stated that Young has become more willing to speak directly in the huddle while maintaining composure with the media. Coker added that the team expects to face variable weather during the season and must maintain performance regardless of conditions.

Young was the first overall selection in the 2023 NFL draft. He started eight games last season, finished 8-8, and led the Panthers to the NFC South title before a wild-card loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
