Iermolaiev and his partner sustained life-threatening injuries while the boy suffered less serious wounds, The Guardian reported. Four additional people received treatment for shock and cuts from shattered windows.
Video surveillance showed a suspect leaving a bag or package in the building lobby before fleeing toward Beausoleil, France, The Guardian reported. Monaco police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large. Monaco's chief prosecutor said the suspect acted alone.
Approximately 50 firefighters and 80 security personnel responded to the scene, with a helicopter deployed overhead. The three injured individuals were transported to hospital in Nice, France. Monaco’s minister of state Christophe Mirmand stated it was the first such act in the principality’s history.
