Paul Pelosi, husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was charged Friday with a misdemeanor hit-and-run after striking a legally parked car on July 3 in Yountville, California. The Napa County Sheriff’s Office said Pelosi was driving his brown convertible when the collision occurred. He briefly stopped before driving away. The parked car was unoccupied and no injuries were reported.
State law requires drivers involved in property-damage accidents to stop and exchange information. Prosecutors said Pelosi also faces an infraction for making an unlawful turn. No attorney for Pelosi was listed in court records. Pelosi pleaded guilty in 2022 to misdemeanor DUI charges in the same county.
He was sentenced to five days in jail and three years of probation, ultimately serving one day after credit for time served.
His next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 14.
