In the 48th state Senate District covering Lebanon and parts of Berks and Lancaster counties, incumbent Republican state Sen.
Chris Gebhard defeated challenger Clovis Crane. Gebhard received 67.4 percent of the vote to Crane's 32.6 percent, with 92 percent of precincts reporting. In the 32nd District covering parts of Bedford, Fayette and Somerset counties, incumbent Republican state Sen.
Pat Stefano defeated challenger Harry Young Cochran. Cochran previously served in the state House as a Democrat.
3rd Congressional District, state Rep. Chris Rabb won the Democratic nomination. Rabb received support from the Democratic Socialists of America, the Working Families Party, and members of the congressional group known as the Squad. Gov. Josh Shapiro campaigned for three other Democratic House candidates: Janelle Stelson, Bob Harvie and Bob Brooks.
All three won their contested primary races. The Working Families Party also supported Rep. Summer Lee of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner in their races. Both candidates won their primaries. Shapiro received nearly 1.1 million votes in the Democratic primary.
Republican state Treasurer Stacy Garrity received 630,000 votes in her party's primary.
