New York PostU.S. military facility. The crew was investigating reports of loud thuds and unidentified aerial phenomenon sightings in the mountains when an object flew toward their helicopter and came within 10 feet before splitting into two smaller objects and speeding away.
Moments later, the crew observed countless orange orbs swarming in all directions against the mountain backdrop. The display lasted several minutes before fading. The official described two large orbs that appeared stationary and just above the rotor disk to the right of the helicopter.
The orbs were oval-shaped, orange with a white or yellow center, and emitted light in all directions. A third and fourth orb appeared seconds later, forming a T shape with the others. They dimmed in reverse order and remained stationary until they vanished.
The entire event lasted 10 to 15 seconds. Fighter jets were deployed to identify the objects but were unable to do so. The official noted that the same orbs appeared to be chasing the fighters. After landing, the official spoke briefly with the crew to express thanks.
