One video shows an F-16C firing on a balloon-shaped object over Lake Huron on February 12, 2023. The footage, recorded by an infrared sensor, depicts the object fragmenting after impact. The Department of War did not state what the fragments were or whether recovery efforts occurred. Officials also did not identify the sensor platform that captured the video.
A separate eight-minute video shows four objects moving in parallel formation. The clip was edited and digitally altered, and the Department of War did not release the date or location. S. Central Command area in August 2022 and near a submarine in March of the same year. S.
