PerfectTed Reports $67 Million Annual Revenue From Matcha Products
PerfectTed, founded in 2021 by Marisa Poster, Levi Levenfiche and Teddie Levenfiche, now sells matcha in more than 30,000 retail and café locations across 50 countries. The company offers ceremonial-grade powders, ready-to-drink lattes and matcha pods compatible with Nespresso machines.
PerfectTed, a matcha brand started in 2021, reached £50 million ($67 million) in annual recurring revenue within five years. The company distributes its products through more than 30,000 retail and café outlets in over 50 countries. After moving to London in 2020, she found matcha difficult to obtain at consistent quality and price.
The product line now includes ceremonial-grade powders, ready-to-drink lattes and Europe’s first matcha pods designed for Nespresso machines. Poster stated that the company works with café partners to ensure proper preparation and offers ready-to-drink formats so consumers do not need to learn whisking techniques.
In 2023 the company appeared on the British television program Dragon’s Den and received offers from the full panel of investors. Poster said the exposure created immediate pressure to meet external expectations for growth.
Poster described early production difficulties, including factories deprioritizing the ingredient and matcha clogging manufacturing equipment. She also noted that retailers initially viewed matcha as too narrow a category. Poster was named a 2026 Veuve Clicquot Bold Future Award finalist.
She had previously been listed in the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe class of 2024 and named Global British Entrepreneur of the Year in 2025.
