The Guardian reported that Monday’s incident is at least the seventh instance of a person shot dead during immigration enforcement operations since January 2025. A federal judge in California awarded Hunter Biden $1.7 million in punitive damages from former Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne on Friday.
The judgment came in a defamation lawsuit. Hunter Biden stated he is “grateful that the rule of law prevailed” in a social media post that marked his first comments on the outcome.
