Pew Survey Finds Unfavorable Views of Israel in 36 Countries
A Pew Research survey across 36 countries shows 67 percent of adults hold unfavorable views of Israel while 25 percent hold favorable views. Hostility reached its highest levels in several Muslim-majority nations and rose in 13 of 24 countries tracked since February.
A Pew Research survey conducted in 36 countries found that 67 percent of adults hold an unfavorable view of Israel while 25 percent hold a favorable view. Hostility was highest in the Muslim-majority countries of Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan and Turkey.
Changes Since February Unfavorable views increased in 13 of 24 countries with available trend data since the Iran war began. Argentina recorded a rise from 46 percent to 55 percent unfavorable. Double-digit increases occurred in Australia, Italy, Ireland, Poland and the United Kingdom.
Most interviews took place after the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran began February 28. The survey data were reported by Pew Research and distributed by Al Jazeera.
