CoinDeskPhantom hired Alvin Hsia, Emily Hsia and Aris Samad on June 30, 2026. The three founded the Ventuals project, which shut down its OpenAI and Anthropic perpetual futures markets on Hyperliquid earlier in the week. The hires will join Phantom's trading and data teams.
Phantom CEO Brandon Millman said the additions will accelerate efforts to build trading products in the Hyperliquid ecosystem. Phantom stated it is the largest distribution partner in the Hyperliquid ecosystem. Millman said the company plans to deepen its focus on perpetual futures.
"Open markets have become a major focus for us. We've gone deep on perps, and we intend to go deeper," Millman stated. " Phantom is one of crypto's largest self-custody wallets. It has expanded from asset storage into swaps, staking and derivatives.
Perpetual futures are derivatives that allow speculation on price movements without an expiration date. Last month, prediction market operator Kalshi launched its own perpetual futures business after regulatory approval.
