Phoenix police responded early Monday to a home where a woman and her two children were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Investigators determined the deaths were a murder-suicide. The woman, identified as 38-year-old Andrea Clarice Davis, had earlier fired shots at a Glendale bar at her husband and a woman with him, according to the Glendale Police Department.

A 36-year-old woman at the bar was struck in the back of the head and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

After the bar shooting, the husband received text messages from Davis stating she intended to harm their children, Glendale police said. He also received a photo showing one of the children bleeding. Officers entered the Phoenix residence and found Davis and the two children dead.

The children were identified as a 10-year-old boy and an 18-month-old girl. A handgun was recovered during a search warrant execution. Phoenix police said they have no prior domestic-violence reports on file for the residence. Sgt. Lorraine Fernandez stated the incident was difficult for investigators.

The Phoenix Police Department encouraged anyone experiencing domestic violence to contact available resources or call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE.
