A wing-box truck traveling in the same direction struck the pickup from behind. The impact pushed the vehicle into the opposite lane, where it was hit by another truck. The collision hurled more than a dozen people from the pickup onto the highway, Hidayat said.
Five survivors remained hospitalized with injuries ranging from minor to serious as of July 13, 2026, police said. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
