performance Lanier made 106 three-pointers at North Florida in 2023-24 and led the Atlantic Sun Conference with a 44 percent three-point rate. He transferred to Tennessee, made 123 three-pointers, averaged 18 points per game, and earned All-America honors.
The Pistons lost Malik Beasley and Tim Hardaway Jr. after the 2024-25 season. Lanier received limited minutes behind Duncan Robinson, Caris LeVert, Jaden Ivey, and Daniss Jenkins. LeVert and Ivey have since departed. The team ranked second in defensive rating last season and holds restricted free agent Jalen Duren.
The Pistons traded up to select first-round pick Ebuka Okorie and acquired sharpshooter Isaiah Joe.
