The left-handed starter is scheduled to throw another simulated game Sunday at the stadium in his recovery from a left elbow bone bruise that has kept him sidelined since mid-May. He threw a two-inning simulated game on June 30 and is expected to increase his pitch count to about 35 pitches over two innings on Sunday.
Officials said the session is the next step in a gradual build-up that could lead to a minor-league rehab assignment.
