Podcast Listeners Show Stronger Support for Protest Rights Than Party Averages
A Gallup analysis of 2025 data found listeners of partisan podcasts hold distinct views on protest rights and voting compared with other members of their parties.
SemaforAmericans who listen to partisan podcasts and influencers expressed stronger support for the right of citizens with radical views to protest the government than other members of their parties, according to a Gallup analysis released June 16. The analysis examined responses from a 2025 study conducted with the Kettering Foundation.
Among listeners to left-leaning influencers such as Hasan Piker, 71% strongly supported the right of citizens with radical views to peacefully protest the government.
That figure compared with 49% of Democrats overall. On the right, 40% of listeners to influencers such as Joe Rogan agreed that citizens with radical views should be able to peacefully protest the government. The corresponding share among Republicans overall stood at 28%.
Liberal podcast listeners were more likely than Democrats overall to believe every citizen, including uninformed or radical ones, deserves the right to vote. S. political leaders will be held accountable.
