A podcast series titled "Our Thing: The Birth of Salsa in Nueva York" will examine the history of salsa music in New York. The series is scheduled to debut on May 26 and is produced by Futuro Media. The program will begin with the 1964 founding of Fania Records and its role in signing artists including Celia Cruz, Willie Colón, Héctor LaVoe, Rubén Blades, Tito Puente, and Eddie Palmieri.
It will also cover the social and cultural factors that shaped the genre after it moved from the Caribbean to New York.

It will also link earlier developments to recent performances by artists such as Bad Bunny, Karol G, Rauw Alejandro, and Nathy Peluso. The podcast follows a 2021 Futuro Studios series on reggaeton history that was produced in partnership with Spotify and narrated by Ivy Queen.
