Toledo police took an 18-year-old male into custody Monday for questioning in connection with a mass shooting at the Old West End Fest that wounded 12 people on Saturday. Officers executed a search warrant at a home in the city around 1:30 p.m. Monday, and forensics teams erected a blue tent at the property. The teenager’s father confirmed that his son lived at the address.

Incident details Authorities said the shooting began after an altercation between two separate shooters. All 12 victims, ages 14 to 61, were listed in stable condition as of Sunday afternoon and expected to survive. Most victims were in their early 20s.

Police said they were tracking multiple leads following the shooting near the festival site, where hundreds had gathered for live music, food vendors, and home tours. No descriptions of suspects or motive have been released.

Next steps Local leaders plan a press conference Tuesday at 10 a.m. local time.

Council President Vanice Williams said the incident was one of the most horrifying events to happen to the city and urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
