Staffordshire Police renewed an appeal for witnesses after a man in his 60s was stabbed on a public footpath at a golf course in Stafford on Thursday evening. The victim remains in critical condition in hospital.

The victim, in his 60s, remains in a critical condition in hospital on Sunday, with specialist officers continuing to support him and his family.
The force said the victim had been walking along the footpath when he was approached from behind. Officers are maintaining an increased policing presence in the area and are carrying out patrols and house-to-house inquiries. Forensic teams were pictured at the golf course on Friday.
The suspect was described as being in his mid-to-late-20s, of average build, wearing dark clothing and may be of Eastern European descent.
" "There is a significant policing operation underway, including increased patrols in the area, and I would encourage anyone with concerns to speak to our officers," he added. " Anyone who was in the Castlefields area between 17:00 and 20:00 BST on Thursday, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage, has been asked to contact police through an online portal or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
