Poll: 46% of Venezuelans want elections before quake rebuilding, 33% want rebuilding first

Nearly half of Venezuelans said electing a new president is a greater priority than rebuilding after last week's twin earthquakes, according to an AtlasIntel survey reported by @business. The poll, conducted between June 26 and 30 for Bloomberg News, found 45.7 percent of respondents favored new elections while 32.6 percent said reconstruction should come first.

Acting President Delcy Rodriguez's disapproval rating reached 63.3 percent in June, up almost 5 percentage points from May.

Nearly two-thirds of respondents disapproved of the government's handling of the earthquakes, and 52.4 percent described the response as very poor. The survey results reflect public frustration with the government's performance in the disaster's immediate aftermath.
