A June poll of 2,585 voters found most Americans lack trust in AI for accurate political information, while a separate NBC survey showed 80% believe civic education receives too little emphasis.

Fifty-four percent of respondents ages 18-29 said they do not have much trust in AI, compared with 64% of those older than 65.
Forty percent of respondents with a college degree said they trust AI “a great deal,” versus 34% without a degree. Among income groups, 42% of those earning above $100,000 per year said they trust AI “a great deal,” compared with 32% earning under $50,000. Partisan differences were smaller.
Thirty-nine percent of the 915 Republican respondents said they trust AI “a great deal,” along with 34% of the 1,013 Democratic respondents and 28% of the 297 true independents. Mike Noble, founder of Noble Predictive Insights, said the age gap reflects technological experience. “There’s a big gap between the two on their technological experience,” he told The Center Square.
A separate NBC News poll of 3,000 adults found that 80% think the United States places too little emphasis on civic education. ” The same survey reported that 12% of adults have confidence in Congress, 18% in the federal government, 27% in local government, 11% in the national news media, 35% in colleges and universities, and 30% in public schools. The NBC poll also asked about executive power.
Forty-eight percent of respondents agreed the country needs strong executive leadership to solve problems without input from Congress and the Supreme Court, while 48% said such leadership is dangerous.
