Poll Finds Most Jewish Adults View Prejudice as Serious Problem

Only 38 percent of all U.S. adults share that assessment of the seriousness of prejudice against Jewish people, according to the poll.

Jewish adults said the Democratic Party supports the Jewish community not very well or not well at all. Fifteen percent said the party supports the community well. Jewish adults rated support from the Republican Party one percentage point higher than from the Democratic Party. Twenty-one percent said they feel President Donald Trump supports the Jewish people well.

Forty-four percent of Jewish adults view New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani somewhat or very favorably, while 39 percent view him unfavorably. Sixty percent hold an unfavorable view of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and 29 percent view Trump favorably.

Thirty-six percent of Jewish adults said supporting Israel is very important to them. Four in ten said the United States is too supportive of Israel, while three in ten said the government is not supportive enough. The poll surveyed 3,040 adults between June 11 and 17, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8 percentage points overall and 5.0 points for Jewish adults.
