Poll Shows Mike Collins Leading Derek Dooley in Georgia Senate Runoff
A JMC Analytics and Polling survey of 600 likely Republican voters conducted May 26-27 found Collins ahead of Dooley 50 percent to 36 percent. Three other recent polls also showed Collins with an advantage ahead of the June runoff.
NewsweekU.S. Senate, according to a JMC Analytics and Polling survey released this week. The poll asked respondents whom they would support if the runoff were held today. Fifty percent chose Collins, 36 percent chose Dooley, and 15 percent were undecided. Among those initially undecided, a follow-up question found 39 percent leaning toward Collins, 27 percent toward Dooley, and 34 percent still undecided.
Polling surveyed 600 respondents on May 26 and May 27. The poll carries a margin of error of 4 percent. In a forced-choice version of the question, Collins received 55 percent, Dooley 39 percent, and 7 percent remained undecided. Favorability ratings in the same survey showed Collins at 61 percent favorable and 18 percent unfavorable, while Dooley stood at 50 percent favorable and 19 percent unfavorable.
