Portland built a 29-15 lead after the first quarter.
Sarah Ashlee Barker hit a three-pointer that extended the margin to 44-26 with four minutes left in the half. The Fire led 50-37 at halftime and stretched the advantage to 25 points during the third quarter. Barker capped that period with another three-pointer.
Clark finished with six points on 1-of-7 shooting in 22 minutes. She also recorded six assists and two rebounds before fouling out in the third quarter. Aliyah Boston paced the Fever with 18 points and seven rebounds. Clark had missed the teams’ previous meeting on May 21 because of a back issue.
Portland improved to four wins in its last five games. The sellout crowd of 19,347 watched coach Alex Sarama remove most starters once the Fire led 98-79 in the fourth quarter.
