South Korean steelmaker POSCO completed the country's largest electric arc furnace this week.
Co. said Wednesday it had finished building the furnace at its Gwangyang steelworks. The new facility will process scrap metal using electricity rather than traditional blast furnaces. The company stated the furnace will begin commercial operations in the fourth quarter of 2026.
