President Holds Private Meetings Then Answers Reporters on Multiple Issues

Washington ExaminerThe president spent the weekend largely out of public view and held only private events and policy meetings from Monday through Wednesday. That schedule meant seven consecutive days without an opportunity for the White House press corps to ask questions.
On Wednesday afternoon, roughly 20 members of the press pool were called to the Oval Office for an executive order signing. The president spoke with reporters for 38 minutes, addressing an anti-weaponization fund, the status of a memorandum of understanding with Iran, and other matters.
Later that day, four House Republicans joined others to pass a resolution limiting further military strikes on Iran.
Thursday, plans were announced to direct hundreds of millions of dollars toward reviving the U.S. coal industry under wartime powers. The statement said the action would lower energy prices and the cost of living.
The president was scheduled to travel to Wisconsin on Friday for a farming roundtable before heading to New Jersey.
