President Trump told reporters this week that he does not think about Americans' financial situation. He said his focus remains on preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. The president made the comments amid ongoing inflation linked to the Iran conflict and global tariffs. He later told Fox News he would repeat the statement.

A report from The Wall Street Journal stated that President Trump has told aides he does not care about projected Democratic victories in the 2026 midterm elections. The same report said the president has expressed frustration in private that Republicans have not passed major parts of his agenda, including new voting restrictions.

White House spokesman Kush Desai said Republicans will deliver secure borders, lower prescription drug prices, and energy dominance if they retain Congress. He added that Democrats have supported a $4 trillion tax hike and blocked deportations of violent illegal aliens.
