President Trump to Fly New Aircraft on First Official Trip to North Dakota Library Opening

President Trump will take the new presidential aircraft on its first official flight Wednesday when traveling to North Dakota to open the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library. The journey forms part of the country's 250th anniversary observances. The president will also ride the BNSF Freedom 250 Train and travel by motorcade with a ceremonial Rough Riders Troop on horseback.

The aircraft, a Boeing 747 previously owned by Qatar, was formally introduced last week. Officials described interior modifications that include a private presidential office and staff conference room. The plane carries an estimated value of $400 million and will serve as an interim aircraft until two new Boeing 747s enter service, now scheduled for mid-2028.

A senior administration official stated that the aircraft underwent standard safety protocols and countersurveillance inspections.

The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in Medora will open to the public on July 4. All living presidents were invited to the ceremony, though only President Trump is scheduled to attend. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, who previously served as governor of North Dakota, is among the administration officials traveling on the flight.

State officials will meet the president upon arrival. The library features exhibits on Theodore Roosevelt's conservation record, during which roughly 230 million acres received federal protection. Interactive displays use modern technology, including the possibility of a virtual meeting with a likeness of Roosevelt.
